I've spent my career on both sides of a contractor's financial statements.

Nineteen years at a regional CPA firm, preparing and reviewing financials for construction companies and leading the construction practice for my last four years there. I learned how sureties, bankers, and bonding agents look at your company. Then I went to industry as Director of Finance for a general contractor, and learned a lot about what happens at a construction company that most career CPAs don't know. WIP schedules, cost reports, projections, pay apps, bonding conversations, insurance, banking, and more.

That's why I started MC4 CPA.

Most contractors I meet have the same problem: the business is stronger than the financials show. Work-in-progress isn't tracked or isn't tracked as well as it could be, job costing isn't being done, and a generalist accountant files the tax returns or tries to perform a review and misses what's important to a contractor. Meanwhile bonding capacity doesn't keep up with the growth, banks won't offer a line of credit or equipment financing, and tax bills are higher than they should be.

At MC4, construction is all we do. Statements built for sureties, proactive tax planning, and financials that lenders and underwriters take seriously. So you can bond bigger jobs, steady your cash flow, and borrow on better terms.
